Full-thickness graft
A full-thickness graft is a medical skin transplant where the entire thickness of the skin—both the outer layer (epidermis) and the inner layer (dermis)—is moved from one area of the body to another. This type of graft is often used to repair significant skin losses, like extensive wounds or scars, because it provides better color match and durability. The donor skin is carefully removed, usually from less visible areas, and then placed onto the damaged site, where it will integrate and heal as part of the new location.
