Fukuzawa Yukichi

Fukuzawa Yukichi was a prominent Japanese educator, writer, and reformist in the 19th century who greatly influenced Japan’s modernization. He advocated for learning from Western countries, promoting education, individual independence, and modernization of society and government. As the founder of Keio University, he emphasized practical knowledge and self-reliance. His ideas helped Japan transition from a feudal society to a more modern, industrialized nation.
