
Fujiwara no Yoshifusa
Fujiwara no Yoshifusa (804–872) was a prominent Japanese statesman of the early Heian period. He was the first non-royal to serve as regent for a reigning emperor, effectively ruling Japan’s government. As a member of the influential Fujiwara clan, he secured his family's power through strategic marriage alliances and political skill. Yoshifusa played a key role in strengthening aristocratic control over the imperial court, laying foundations for the Fujiwara family's long-term influence in Japan’s political history.
