FSIA Exceptions
FSIA (Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act) exceptions are specific situations where a foreign country's government can be sued in U.S. courts despite the general rule of immunity. These exceptions include cases involving commercial activities (business transactions for profit), personal injury or property damage caused by the foreign government’s commercial conduct, or certain violations of international law. Essentially, while foreign states usually can't be sued in the U.S., these exceptions carve out specific conditions where legal action is permitted due to the nature of the conduct involved.
