Frigatebird
The frigatebird is a large seabird known for its impressive flying skills and distinctive appearance. It has long, pointed wings and a forked tail, allowing it to glide effortlessly over ocean surfaces. Frigatebirds are exceptional at stealing fish and prey from other seabirds, thanks to their agility and sharp beaks. They rarely land on water, instead staying aloft for extended periods during long flights, often soaring over tropical and subtropical waters. Their large, red throat pouch in males inflates during the breeding season to attract mates, making them easily recognizable. Frigatebirds play a vital role in marine ecosystems as scavengers and predators.
