Friedrich der Große, or Frederick the Great, was King of Prussia from 1740 to 1786. He was known for modernizing his military, expanding Prussia’s territory, and promoting arts, education, and legal reform. A skilled and strategic leader, he successfully fought in several wars to strengthen his kingdom. Frederick was also an enlightened ruler who supported religious tolerance and was interested in Enlightenment ideas. His leadership transformed Prussia into a major European power, laying foundations for its future strength.
