Freudian slips

A Freudian slip is an accidental mistake, such as a word or action, that reveals subconscious thoughts or feelings. These slips often occur when our real intentions, fears, or desires surface unintentionally, despite our conscious effort to hide them. For example, someone might say “anger” when they mean “garden,” indicating underlying feelings they might not be fully aware of. Freud believed that these slips are windows into the mind’s deeper layers, revealing hidden emotions or conflicts that influence our behavior without our conscious awareness.
