Freshwater Resources
Freshwater resources include all the water found in lakes, rivers, glaciers, aquifers, and the atmosphere that is suitable for human use, agriculture, and ecosystems. They are vital for drinking, farming, industry, and maintaining healthy environments. Despite making up about 2.5% of all water on Earth, only a small fraction is readily accessible as freshwater. These resources are constantly replenished through precipitation but can be depleted or contaminated by overuse, pollution, and climate change. Sustainable management and conservation are essential to ensure freshwater remains available for future generations.
