Freshwater

Freshwater refers to water that contains very low concentrations of dissolved salts and minerals, making it suitable for human consumption, agriculture, and most ecosystems. It primarily exists in lakes, rivers, streams, and underground aquifers. Freshwater is vital for sustaining life, supporting ecosystems, and enabling activities like drinking, irrigation, and industry. While it makes up about 2.5% of all Earth's water, only a small portion is accessible for human use, as much is trapped in glaciers or underground. Proper management of freshwater resources is essential to address challenges like pollution, overuse, and climate change.
