Frege-Russell distinction

The Frege-Russell distinction separates two aspects of meaning. Frege focused on the "sense," which is how we understand a term—its specific way of presenting its reference. Russell, on the other hand, emphasized the "reference" itself—the actual object or thing a term points to in the real world. For example, "Morning Star" and "Evening Star" have different senses (they present the same object differently) but share the same reference (the planet Venus). This distinction helps clarify how language relates to reality and how different expressions can mean same or different things.
