Freedom Union
The Freedom Union was a political party in the Czech Republic founded in 1998 by members of the Civic Democratic Party who sought to promote individual freedoms, transparency, and democratic principles. It aimed to balance economic liberalism with social responsibility and reform government institutions to ensure accountability. The party emphasized fostering a free-market economy, protecting civil liberties, and encouraging citizen participation in politics. Although it played a role in transitional Czech politics, the Freedom Union eventually merged with other parties or phased out, reflecting the country's evolving political landscape.
