Freedom struggle of India
India’s freedom struggle was a collective effort by Indians to gain independence from British rule, spanning nearly two centuries. It involved diverse movements, protests, and sacrifices, driven by leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and countless others. Gandhi’s nonviolent resistance, civil disobedience, and boycotts of British goods were key strategies. The movement also included revolutionary activities and efforts to unite different communities. Ultimately, persistent activism and mass participation led to India gaining independence in 1947, ending colonial subjugation and establishing self-rule.
