Fredric Wertham
Fredric Wertham was a psychiatrist and author best known for his criticism of comic books in the 1950s. He believed that violent and immoral content in comics could negatively influence young readers' behavior and attitudes. His most famous work, *Seduction of the Innocent*, argued that comics contributed to delinquency and mental health issues among children. His views sparked widespread concern, leading to the 1954 Senate hearings on juvenile delinquency and the creation of the Comics Code Authority, which regulated comic book content to make it more suitable for children.
