FRBR (Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records) is a framework that helps organize and understand how different versions and formats of a work relate to each other. It identifies four key entities: the original work (e.g., a novel), its expressions (e.g., the same novel in English or translated into French), its manifestations (specific editions or printed versions), and items (individual copies).
