Frauenfeld Conference

The Frauenfeld Conference, held in 1859 in Switzerland, was a diplomatic meeting involving Austria, Prussia, and several German states. Its main goal was to address the complex political and territorial issues in the German-speaking regions following the decline of the German Confederation. The conference aimed to restore order and find a cooperative solution, but it also highlighted rivalries and differing interests among the states. While it did not resolve all conflicts, it played a role in shaping future German unification efforts and heightened tensions leading up to the wars that eventually unified Germany in the 1870s.
