Fraud, Waste, and Abuse
Fraud, waste, and abuse are types of improper use of resources. Fraud is intentionally deceiving to gain something of value, like filing false insurance claims. Waste involves unnecessary or excessive spending that doesn't benefit the organization, often from lack of oversight. Abuse is using resources improperly or unfairly, such as providing services outside of guidelines. All three can lead to financial losses, reduced quality of service, and erosion of trust. Addressing these issues requires awareness, proper oversight, and adherence to policies to ensure resources are used effectively and ethically.
