Franco-Italian War

The Franco-Italian War (1935-1936) was a conflict primarily between Italy and France over control of the border region of Aosta Valley and the French territory of Corsica. Italy, under Mussolini, sought to expand its territory and influence, leading to military clashes with France. The war was marked by limited hostilities, mainly skirmishes and diplomatic tensions, rather than large-scale battles. Ultimately, Italy did not achieve significant territorial gains, and the conflict ended with agreements that maintained the status quo, highlighting Italy's ambitions but also its limitations in asserting regional dominance at that time.
