Francis II of France

Francis II was a king of France who ruled from 1559 until his death in 1560. He was born in 1544 and became king after his father, Henry II. His reign was brief, largely dominated by political and religious conflicts related to the Protestant Reformation. As a teenager, he struggled to control powerful nobles and maintain stability. His marriage to Mary, Queen of Scots, aimed to strengthen alliances. Francis II's sudden death at age 16 left France in a period of religious turbulence, leading to the rise of more powerful factions and future conflicts between Catholics and Protestants.
