Francesco Petrarca (Latin form)
Francesco Petrarca, known in Latin as Petrarch, was an influential Italian scholar and poet of the 14th century. He is often called the "Father of Humanism" for rekindling interest in classical Latin and Greek literature. Petrarch’s work focused on exploring human emotions and individual experience, especially through his poetry written in vernacular Italian. His most famous collection, "Canzoniere," expresses love, longing, and introspection. Petrarch's rediscovery of classical texts helped shape the Renaissance, emphasizing the value of studying ancient thinkers and fostering a renewed appreciation for human potential and achievement.
