FOURIER trial

The FOURIER trial was a large medical study that tested whether a drug called evolocumab could reduce the risk of heart-related problems, like heart attacks or strokes, in people with existing cardiovascular disease. Participants were assigned to receive either evolocumab or a placebo, along with their usual treatments, and were followed for several years. The results showed that those taking evolocumab had a significant reduction in artery plaque buildup and fewer heart problems overall. This trial demonstrated the drug's effectiveness in lowering bad cholesterol and improving cardiovascular health in high-risk patients.
