Fourdrinier paper machine
The Fourdrinier paper machine is a large industrial process used to produce paper continuously. It works by spreading a mixture of pulp (wood fibers and water) onto a moving mesh conveyor called a wire. As water drains away, the fibers form a continuous sheet. This sheet then passes through rollers that press out remaining water and smooth the surface. Finally, it is dried using heated rollers. This automated method allows for high-volume, consistent paper production, making it the backbone of modern paper manufacturing for sheets used in printing, packaging, and other applications.
