Four-stroke cycle
The four-stroke cycle is a common process used in internal combustion engines to generate power. It consists of four steps: Intake, where the engine draws in a fuel-air mixture; Compression, where the mixture is squeezed tightly; Power, where a spark ignites the mixture, causing an explosion that pushes the piston down; and Exhaust, where the burnt gases are expelled. These steps repeat rapidly, translating the energy from combustion into mechanical motion that powers vehicles and machines. This cycle allows the engine to operate efficiently and produce continuous power.
