Forward Surgical Teams (FST)
Forward Surgical Teams (FST) are specialized medical units deployed to provide emergency surgical care in combat or disaster zones. Comprised of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and support staff, these teams operate in close proximity to the frontline to quickly treat critically injured patients. Their goal is to stabilize injuries and minimize the time between injury and surgery, significantly improving survival rates. FSTs are designed to be highly mobile and adaptable, allowing them to set up rapidly in various environments while ensuring that vital surgical services are available when and where they are needed most.
