Forum conveniens

Forum non conveniens is a legal principle that allows courts to decline jurisdiction over a case if there is a more appropriate location—in terms of convenience and fairness—where the case should be tried. Essentially, even if a court has the legal authority to hear a case, it may choose to dismiss it in favor of another court better suited to handle the matter, often because that location has a stronger connection to the case or easier access for witnesses and evidence. This doctrine helps promote justice and efficiency by ensuring cases are heard in the most appropriate venue.
