Fortress of Algiers

The Fortress of Algiers, also known as the Kasbah or Casbah, is a historic fortress complex located in Algiers, Algeria. Built by the Ottomans and expanded over centuries, it features a defensive wall, watchtowers, mosques, and narrow streets that reflect traditional Islamic architecture. Serving both military and administrative purposes, it played a key role in protecting the city from invasions.
