Forth Road Bridge
The Forth Road Bridge is a suspension bridge in Scotland that connects Edinburgh with Fife across the Firth of Forth. Opened in 1964, it spans approximately 2.7 miles and enables vehicle traffic to cross the water efficiently. The bridge is supported by large towers and cables, providing strength and stability. It plays a vital role in local transportation, easing travel for commuters and goods. Due to aging, it has been supplemented by the nearby Queenferry Crossing since 2017, which handles most traffic, but the Forth Road Bridge remains an important historic engineering landmark.
