Fort William H. Seward

Fort William H. Seward was an American military installation located in Anchorage, Alaska, named after Secretary of State William H. Seward. Built in the early 1900s, it served primarily as a strategic military base during World War I and II, protecting the Alaskan coastline and supporting U.S. interests in the region. The fort included barracks, artillery, and training facilities, playing a key role in regional defense. It was eventually decommissioned and the site was repurposed, with remaining structures serving historical or interpretive purposes today.
