Fort Greely

Fort Greely is a U.S. Army installation in Alaska, primarily serving as a missile defense site. It is part of the United States' North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense system, designed to detect and intercept potential missile threats from other countries, especially North Korea and Iran. The facility hosts interceptor missiles and radar equipment to monitor and defend North America. Originally established in the 1950s, Fort Greely has evolved to play a critical role in America's national security by providing a reliable missile defense capability in the Arctic region.
