Fort Clinton
Fort Clinton was a historic military fort built during the American Revolutionary War in 1776 in New York City. It was part of the city's defenses designed to protect against British attack and was strategically located near the Hudson River. Named after Major General James Clinton, it played a role in the defense of New York during the conflict. Over time, the fort was dismantled, and the area was developed into parts of the city's infrastructure. Today, the name "Fort Clinton" survives in parks and nearby landmarks, commemorating its historical significance.
