Foreign Legations
Foreign legations are official diplomatic missions established by one country's government in another country, similar to embassies. They serve as the official representatives and a point of contact for diplomatic relations, handling tasks like political communication, consular services, and cultural exchanges. Historically, legations often referred to diplomatic posts in countries where full embassies were not yet established. Today, the term is less commonly used, replaced mostly by “embassy,” but it still denotes the diplomatic mission representing a nation abroad. Essentially, foreign legations are the formal, recognized presence of a country's government in another nation to facilitate cooperation and communication.
