Force majeure events
Force majeure events refer to unforeseen circumstances that prevent parties from fulfilling their contractual obligations. These events are typically extraordinary and outside anyone's control, such as natural disasters (like earthquakes or floods), war, terrorism, or pandemics. When such an event occurs, a party may be excused from their responsibilities under a contract, as these conditions make performance impossible or impractical. Essentially, force majeure provides legal protection to parties when exceptional situations disrupt normal operations and obligations.
