Foot Drop
Foot drop is a condition where a person has difficulty lifting the front part of their foot, causing it to drag while walking. This happens because nerves or muscles that control the lifting motion are damaged or weakened. As a result, individuals may have an abnormal walking pattern known as a "high-stepping" gait to avoid dragging their foot. Foot drop can occur due to nerve injuries, neurological conditions like stroke or multiple sclerosis, or muscle disorders. Treatment may include physical therapy, braces, or surgery, depending on the underlying cause.
