Follicular dendritic cells

Follicular dendritic cells (FDCs) are specialized immune cells located in lymph nodes and other lymphoid tissues. They play a key role in the body's immune response by presenting uninfected parts of pathogens, called antigens, to B cells—another immune cell type. This process helps B cells produce antibodies, which are crucial for fighting infections. Unlike other dendritic cells that process and present antigens to initiate immune responses, FDCs primarily trap and display antigens on their surface for B cell interaction, supporting the formation of memory and effective immune defenses.
