FOD management

FOD management refers to the practices used to prevent, identify, and remove Foreign Object Debris (FOD)—any objects or debris that don't belong on an aircraft or runway—with the goal of maintaining safety. This includes regular inspections, cleaning, and procedures to identify potential hazards such as loose tools, trash, or debris that could cause damage or accidents.
