Focal length

Focal length is a measurement, usually in millimeters, that describes how a camera lens focuses light to form an image. It determines the lens’s field of view—how much of a scene you can see—and influences the magnification of subjects. A shorter focal length (like 18mm) offers a wide view, capturing more of the scene, ideal for landscapes. A longer focal length (like 100mm) provides a narrow, magnified view, suitable for portraits or distant subjects.
