foal
A foal is a young horse, typically less than one year old. It is the early stage of a horse’s life, born after a gestation period of about 11 months. Foals are born with their eyes open and can stand and walk shortly after birth. They rely on their mother’s milk for nourishment but begin to eat solid food as they grow. As they mature, foals develop their strength, coordination, and social skills, eventually becoming juvenile horses capable of participating in various activities based on their breed and training.
