Flutter valve
A Flutter valve is a medical device used to help drain excessive air or fluid from the chest cavity, often after lung surgery or injury. It consists of a flexible, one-way valve connected to a tube that is placed in the chest. When the patient breathes out, the valve allows air and fluid to escape, preventing buildup that can cause breathing difficulties. During inhalation, the valve closes to prevent air from entering the chest cavity. This helps maintain proper lung function and promotes healing by continuously removing excess air or fluid safely and efficiently.
