Fluorometry

Fluorometry is a technique used to measure the presence and concentration of specific substances by detecting how they emit light. When a substance absorbs light at a certain wavelength, it becomes excited and then releases that energy as a faint glow or fluorescence at a different, usually longer wavelength. By shining a light on a sample and measuring this emitted fluorescence with specialized instruments, scientists can identify and quantify molecules like proteins, DNA, or pollutants with high sensitivity and accuracy. This method is widely used in research, medical diagnostics, and environmental testing.
