fluorescent lamps
Fluorescent lamps are energy-efficient light sources that use electricity to excite mercury vapor inside a glass tube. When the vapor laments, it emits ultraviolet (UV) light, which then hits a phosphor coating on the inside of the tube. This coating fluoresces, or glows, producing visible light. They are commonly used in homes, offices, and commercial spaces because they produce more light with less energy compared to traditional incandescent bulbs. Fluorescent lamps take a moment to reach full brightness and contain small amounts of mercury, requiring careful disposal.
