Flower biology

Flower biology involves the reproductive parts of flowering plants. The main parts include the petals, which attract pollinators like bees and butterflies, and the reproductive organs—stamens (producing pollen) and carpels or pistils (containing ovules). Pollen from the stamens must reach the pistil through a process called pollination. This can happen via wind, animals, or other methods. Once fertilization occurs, the ovules develop into seeds, and the surrounding flower tissues often develop into fruit, which protects the seeds and aids in dispersal. This cycle ensures the continuation of the plant species.
