Florida Manatee

The Florida Manatee, or sea cow, is a large, gentle marine mammal native to the warm coastal waters of Florida. Known for their slow movements and docile nature, they primarily feed on seagrass. Manatees are herbivores and spend much of their time grazing or resting. They are protected species due to threats like habitat loss, boat collisions, and pollution, and efforts are in place to conserve their populations. Recognizable by their rounded bodies, paddle-shaped fins, and distinctive upturned snouts, Florida Manatees are a symbol of environmental conservation in the state.
