Floating LNG
Floating LNG (FLNG) is a large, specialized vessel that extracts liquefied natural gas directly from offshore gas fields, allowing production at sea instead of onshore facilities. It incorporates the equipment needed for processing, cooling, and storing natural gas in liquefied form, which is easier to transport. This offshore approach enables access to remote or difficult-to-reach gas reserves, reduces the need for land-based infrastructure, and can be more flexible and cost-effective. Once cooled into LNG, it can be transferred to tankers for shipping to markets worldwide.
