Floating Dry Dock

A floating dry dock is a specialized structure used to repair and maintain ships. It is essentially a large, hollow platform that can be submerged underwater to lift a ship out of the water. Once the ship is supported, the dry dock is raised above the water level, allowing workers to access the ship’s hull for repairs, cleaning, or maintenance. When finished, the dock lowers back into the water, allowing the ship to sail away. This method is efficient for servicing large vessels without needing a permanent dry dock facility on land.
