Float-Free EPIRBs
Float-Free EPIRBs (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons) are safety devices designed for maritime use. When properly installed on a vessel, they automatically activate if the boat sinks or capsizes. Once activated, they float to the water’s surface and send distress signals via satellite and radio to rescue authorities, providing immediate location data. This technology ensures prompt assistance, even if the crew is unable to manually activate the beacon, significantly enhancing survival chances during maritime emergencies.
