FLN (National Liberation Front, Algeria)
The National Liberation Front (FLN) was a political and military organization in Algeria that led the struggle for independence from French colonial rule, which lasted over 130 years. Established in 1954, the FLN organized armed resistance and mobilized support among the Algerian population. Their efforts intensified the Algerian War of Independence, marked by guerrilla warfare and significant violence. The conflict drew international attention and criticism of French colonial policies. The war ended in 1962, resulting in Algeria gaining independence and the FLN becoming the dominant political party in the new nation.
