FLN (National Liberation Front)

The National Liberation Front (FLN) was a revolutionary political and military organization in Algeria that fought for independence from French colonial rule. Founded in 1954, its goal was to end decades of French control and establish an independent Algerian state. The FLN conducted guerrilla warfare, political activism, and diplomatic efforts, uniting various Algerian groups under a common cause. Its efforts led to the Algerian War of Independence, which resulted in Algeria gaining sovereignty in 1962. The FLN then became the ruling party of independent Algeria, shaping the country's political landscape for decades.
