Fletcher-class destroyers

Fletcher-class destroyers were a group of versatile warships used by the U.S. Navy during World War II. Launched between 1941 and 1944, they measured about 376 feet long and could travel over 35 knots. Designed for fleet support, their roles included escorting larger ships, defending against enemy submarines and aircraft, and attacking surface targets. They were armed with torpedoes, guns, and depth charges, making them highly effective in various combat scenarios. Over 175 were built, and they remain regarded as some of the most successful and influential destroyers in naval history.
