Flax cultivation practices

Flax cultivation involves selecting well-drained, fertile soil and planting seeds in early spring or late summer. Farmers prepare the land by tilling to ensure good soil aeration and moisture retention. Seeds are sown at a shallow depth and spaced evenly to promote healthy growth. During the growing season, flax needs adequate watering and weed control to prevent competition. As the plants mature, they are harvested when the seeds turn brown and the plants begin to turn yellow, usually using specialized machinery. Proper drying and threshing follow, extracting the seeds for oil or fiber, with attention to maintaining quality throughout the process.
