Flatfoot deformity

Flatfoot deformity is a condition where the arch of the foot is lower than normal or absent, causing the entire sole to come into contact with the ground. This can result from ligament or tendon weakness, arthritis, or injury. It may cause pain, swelling, and difficulty walking or standing for long periods. Over time, flat feet can lead to misalignment of the legs and additional joint problems. While some people have flatfeet without symptoms, others may experience discomfort that requires treatment, such as orthotics, exercises, or, in some cases, surgery to improve foot function and relieve pain.
