Flash (software)
Adobe Flash was a multimedia software platform used to create and display interactive content on the web, such as animations, videos, games, and applications. It allowed developers to build engaging experiences that could run smoothly across different browsers and devices, using its own programming language called ActionScript. Once popular for web entertainment and education, Flash's security issues and advancements in HTML5, which natively supports multimedia without additional plugins, led to its decline. Adobe officially discontinued Flash at the end of 2020, encouraging users to migrate content to modern, open standards.
